Prescott Park Petroglyphs

Scattered around the Prescott Lakes Petroglyph Park in Prescott, Arizona are a large number of rocks and boulders with petroglyphs that were relocated to common areas as houses were built in the area. Each of these sites are connected with a developed trail. To get there from outside of the neighborhood you can begin at Vista Park, Sarafina Drive with your driving app.

Petroglyph Point

Petroglyph Point is located in Prescott, Arizona. The petroglyphs are on a boulder that is high up on the point. To get there you can enter ‘Petroglyph Point, Enchanted Cyn Wy’ or ‘1837 Enchanted Cyn Wy’ into your driving app. It takes a bit of scrambling to get up to the petroglyphs to take photos.

Mint Wash

The Mint Wash Ruins and Petroglyphs is a site near Prescott, Arizona that we haven’t visited yet. Found here is one large ruin on a hilltop, 2 smaller ruins, and some petroglyphs on a large flat rock above a rockshelter.

For turn-by-turn directions enter ‘Williams Valley Trailhead, Prescott, AZ’ into your driving app. From there follow the Mint Wash trail using our GPS file and map as a guide to find each site along the way.

Lynx Creek Pueblo

The Lynx Creek Pueblo is a site near Prescott, Arizona that we haven’t visited yet. Found at the site at the end of a half mile long hike is the rubble pile ruins of what once was a 27 room pueblo surrounded by some outlying structures.

To get there you can enter ‘Lynx Creek Ruin Trailhead, Prescott, AZ’ into your driving app. It should direct you south on AZ-69S for 3.3 miles to the S Walker Road. After turning right it is another 1.5 miles to the Lynx Creek Road and another tenth of a mile to the trailhead.

Granite Creek Petroglyphs

The Granite Creek Petroglyphs is a site near Chino Valley, Arizona that we haven't visited yet. The map and GPS files show 2 possible routes to the site. The route via E 4 North looks easiest but we aren't sure about access going that way. When we zoom in using satellite view we can see a vehicle where we put the trailhead marker. The route via CR 70 is a shorter hike but a lot more driving.
