The Strawberry Crater Ruins are located in the Strawberry Crater Wilderness Area north of Flagstaff, Arizona. We found the four ruins marked on our topo map up near the rim of the crater. To get there, drive 18 miles north from Flagstaff on US-89 and turn right onto Forest Service Road 150. After 4 miles turn right onto FS 6005, drive another 3.3 miles, find a place to park, and begin hiking. With the ruins being high up under the rim of the crater it’s difficult to tell how easy they can be reached. (A more direct route from US-89 might be via Forest Road 546.)
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
