The Sheep Bridge Petroglyphs are located along the Verde River in the Tonto National Forest about 25 miles due east of Black Canyon City, Arizona. If you enter ‘Sheep Bridge Tonto National Forest’ into your driving app you will probably be given 2 options. One via the Bloody Basin Road and the other via the Cave Creek Road. Via the Bloody Basin Road you would take I-17 Exit 259 and continue 38 miles to the parking area on the west side of Sheep Bridge. The other route might be from the 101 up the Cave Creek Road for 50 miles to FR 269 where you would turn right for the last 12 miles to the trailhead.
