The Shaman’s Gallery is a pictograph site of the Grand Canyon Polychrome Style that is located in the North Rim area of the Grand Canyon National Park off of the Tuckup Trail. The very long drive that gets you there begins off of AZ-389 where you turn south onto County Road 109 and follow it for 42 miles before turning left for another 12.6 very slow miles to the trailhead. From the trailhead it is about 3.2 miles down to Tuckup Wash where the pictographs will be on the left about 45 feet above the wash. We’ve heard that the Tuckup Trail was rerouted at some point to where it now goes right by the panel but haven’t seen that on a map yet. Note that from the trailhead there is an elevation loss of 1,876 feet that must be climbed to get back to your vehicle so make sure that you are fit enough to manage the strain.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
