Shoofly Indian Ruins

The Shoofly Indian Ruins are located about 3 miles northeast of Payson, Arizona. To get there, drive north from Payson on AZ-87 for about 2.5 miles and turn right onto the Houston Mesa Road/FS-199. Continue for 3 miles and turn right to the trailhead. For turn-by-turn directions enter ‘Shoofly Indian Ruins Payson’ into your driving app.

Rock Island Petroglyphs

The Rock Island Petroglyphs are found scattered on 89 boulders on Rock Island across from the marina on Theodore Roosevelt Lake near Globe, Arizona. The island can only be visited by boat. To get there, find your way to the marina, cross over to the island, and begin hiking the more than 3 mile loop around to each of the sites.
