The Solstice Cave is located in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. The site is located high up in a boulder field in the drainage below Sombrero Peak. We haven't visited the site yet but think that we have identified its exact location by locating a distinct boulder on Google Earth that sits in front of the cave.
For turn-by-turn directions to where the junction of the north and south forks of the Indian Gorge Road enter 32.86286, -116.24522 into your driving app. Taking the left fork it is another 2.9 miles to the unmarked trailhead. While driving through Indian Gorge you might be able to spot a few petroglyphs.
