The Murphy's Well Petroglyphs are located 16.2 miles north of Hinkley, California in the area of Black Mountain. Petroglyphs can be found on various boulders on the side of the hill.
For turn-by-turn directions enter 35.12708, -117.10224 into your driving app. From CA-58 Exit 227 you will be directed north on the Hinkley Road for 7.8 miles where you will turn right onto County Road 20771. Continue straight for 8.4 miles to Murphy well. Expect some areas of deep sand and washboards.
