The Lamont Meadow Pictographs are located along the Canebrake/Chimney Peak Road about 11.2 miles northeast of Canebrake, California. The site consists of a habitation site with bedrock mortars and a large boulder with a few faint pictographs on the ceiling of an overhang.

For photos and a good description for this site and about 70 others in the Owens Valley you can download Bill Petry's book Rock Art of the Owens Valley or, if you can find one, purchase a copy from eBay.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
