Goler Gulch Petroglyphs

GPS planning file and map.

The Goler Gulch Petroglyphs are located southwest of Ridgecrest, CA in the El Paso Mountains. The site includes 3 separate areas where there are petroglyphs.

From US-395, about 14 miles south of Ridgecrest, turn west onto Garlock Road. After another 4.8 miles turn right onto Charlie Road. The Sand Gulch Ruins are at the 2.3 mile point of the Charlie Road and the first petroglyphs are another 0.6 miles. The Charlie Road leaves the canyon before it reaches the last 2 petroglyph sites so at least 1 mile of hiking might be required. Perhaps more if the sand in the wash becomes too deep.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
