The Corn Springs Petroglyphs are located in the Chuckwalla National Monument near Desert Center, California. Another site with petroglyphs and habitation sites can be found in the nearby wash as you drive in. There are about 7 boulders along the wash that have images. We have labeled the general area as CA-RIV-981.
For turn-by-turn directions enter Corn Spring Campground into your driving app. From Interstate 10, 9 miles east of Desert Center, you will take Exit 201. Follow the Chuckwalla Valley Road for about 6 tenths of a mile and turn right onto the Corn Springs Road. From there it is about 6 miles to where the road crosses the wash for the first site and another 1.5 miles to the campground where we are guessing that the petroglyphs will be around an outcrop just east of the campground.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
