The McCoy Spring Petroglyphs are located west of Blythe, California in the Palen-McCoy Wilderness Area. This is an extensive site where pristine images are found on over 2,000 boulders, mostly in the area of the spring.
About the best that you can do for turn-by-turn directions will take you as far as I-10 Exit 222 by entering either 33.60901, -114.90169 or Wiley's Well - Riverside County Rest Stop into your driving app. Exit 222 is 18 miles west of Blythe on Interstate 10. From there you will need to find the 4WD road that leads north through the desert for about 5.6 miles to the Wilderness Boundary where you will need to hike the remaining 5.3 miles to McCoy Spring.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
