The Burham Canyon site is located about 15 miles due west of Mojave, California. Found at the site is a variety of rock art that includes some pictographs as well as a number of grinding slicks.
There are a variety of routes leading to the site one of which provided 4WD access the entire way. It appears that a flashflood has ruined that route as far as driving is concerned. We have seen photos where people hiked along the ridge on the east side of Burham Canyon to get there. When we go there for the first time we are going to let our driving app direct us to 34.93596, -118.41562 as a starting point. If we have to hike from there it will be 3 miles one way but we are hoping to cut at least half that distance off by driving even further.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
