The Tom Ketchum Cave is located in the Pedredosa Mountains area of the Coronado National Forest east of McNeal, Arizona. The cave which looks large in Google Earth is reported to show signs of ancient habitation including some pictographs. To get there from McNeal turn off US-191 onto Davis. Follow it east for 8.8 miles and go left on Leslie Canyon. After 3.8 miles go right on Big Bend Creek for 3.8 miles and continue straight on FR 4371 for 1.8 miles. At that point go right for a final 1.5 miles and begin hiking into Tom Ketchum Canyon where in just under 1 mile the cave should be reached.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
