Lost Canyon Ruins

GPS planning file and map.

The Lost Canyon Ruins are located near Sedona, Arizona. Both are found in a short canyon off of the Dry Creek Road. Ruin 1 is beneath an overhang on a bench above the bed of the canyon. Ruin 2 is in an alcove at the head of the lower part of the canyon near the stream bed. We put together a suggested GPS track that is certain to change once a person arrives on the scene. To get there, drive north from Sedona on the Dry Creek Road for 2 miles. Turn right to stay on the Dry Creek Road, FR 152. After 1.9 miles there should be a wide spot in the road at the mouth of the canyon to serve as a trailhead. From there it should be only about a half mile to the lower ruin which from pictures looks to be in pretty good condition. The higher ruin looks mostly like stub walls and we aren’t sure of the route up to it.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
