Cow Creek Petroglyphs

GPS planning file and map.

The Cow Creek Petroglyphs is a site near Phoenix, Arizona that we found marked on a topo map. To get there, turn off AZ–74 onto the North Castle Hot Springs Road. At the 8.5 mile point, after having passed Lake Pleasant, turn right onto French Creek. After about 3 miles or so the French Creek Road becomes Cow Creek. At the 4 mile point from the Castle Hot Springs Road there is a road that breaks off on the right that provides a 4WD route down into the wash below the petroglyphs. By continuing up the Cow Creek Road for another 3 tenths of a mile a person should be able to park and hike about a half mile to the petroglyphs.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
