The Cow Creek Petroglyphs are located in the Lake Pleasant area north of Phoenix, Arizona. On a short hill overlooking the wash the petroglyphs can be found scattered about on some of the, both large and small, basalt boulders. Most of the 1.5 mile hike is pretty easy as the route follows an old 4WD road.

Hidden in a side branch of the Moqui Fork of Horseshoe Canyon is the illusive Dragon Fly Panel with its intricate collection of Barrier Canyon Style pictographic images. Visitors to this extremely remote part of the Horseshoe Canyon Wilderness Study Area in Wayne County, Utah will also have the opportunity to explore another side canyon where within twin alcoves they will find another intricate BCS image and three storage cists.

Spring Canyon is located in the San Rafael Swell, in Emery County, west of Green River, Utah and south of Price. Near the mouth of the canyon at Mexican Bend of the San Rafael River are a number of boulders with an assortment of interesting petroglyphs. Further to the north near its confluence with Nates Canyon is a spindly arch high above the canyon floor that on most older maps is named Delicate Arch. In the late 1800's the area was frequented by such outlaws as Joe Walker and Butch Cassidy.

Little Spotted Wolf Canyon is located in the San Rafael Swell near Green River, Utah. The wash is the closest canyon in the anticline that is south of Interstate 70 where a person can hike all the way through the reef. Wild burros that have lived in the area since the time of the Old Spanish Trail use Little Spotted Wolf Canyon as a migratory route between the higher elevations of the San Rafael Swell where they spend the warm summer months and the lower elevations east of the reef.

The Head of Sinbad Pictograph site is located about 35 miles west of Green River, Utah. The area is managed by the BLM and is commonly referred to as the Head of Sinbad. In this context the name refers to the limestone member of the Moenkopi Formation and not to the fabled sailor of Middle Eastern origin. Isn't it interesting that in an area famous for its towering red sandstone cliffs that there is a band of limestone that was deposited at a time when a shallow sea covered the western part of the continent.
