The Confluence trail is located in Echo Park area of the Dinosaur National Monument near Dinosaur, Colorado. The trail begins just east of the Day Use Area, across from Steamboat Rock, where it travels along the bank of the river to the confluence of the Green River and the Yampa River.

The San Rafael River trail, in Emery County, Utah, stretches between Fuller Bottom and Road Draw which is near the Buckhorn Wash Road. Along its course, between Fuller Bottom and through an area known as the Little Grand Canyon, the trail crosses the San Rafael River more than a handful of times. This post begins at the east end of the trail where the route is more heavily used and continues into the Little Grand Canyon stopping at the Cane Wash Pictographs along the way. The turn around point is near another set of pictographs in the Little Grand Canyon. No river crossings are required up to that point.

The Sawyer Lake trail is located east of Basalt, Colorado in the Hunter Fryingpan Wilderness Area of the White River National Forest. The trail begins at the south end of the Twin Meadows primitive campground where it climbs steadily through a dense pine and spruce forest for 4 miles where nestled in a small basin just above 11,000 feet it comes to Sawyer Lake. The trail is popular with day hikers, backpackers, trail runners and riders on horseback.

Chapman Lake is located in the Hunter Fryingpan Wilderness Area of the White River National Forest east of Basalt, Colorado. Beginning off of the Chapman Gulch Road the trail climbs gently around the lower north shoulder of Mount Nast (12,467 ft.) for just over a mile before arriving at Chapman Lake. The lake and the entire trail are well secluded within a lush, mostly spruce, forest. Fishing is said to be good at times for brook trout.
