The Leopard Creek trail is located just outside of Placerville, Colorado beside Highway 62. The lightly used trail travels along the creek just below the highway as it passes through the very scenic Leopard Creek Canyon. Several places along the trail provide access to the creek which runs peacefully through the canyon most of the year with only a few inches of water.

The Papago Ponds are located near the Phoenix Zoo at Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The lagoons, which are part of the Community Fishing Waters, are stocked with catfish in the summer and trout in the winter but fishermen can also catch sunfish, largemouth bass and grass carp. Besides fishing the area has several picnic ramadas and is a great place for a family hike.

The Hole in the Rock Butte is located at Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The unique 'otherworldly' sandstone buttes are what set apart Papago Park in the Phoenix area. A short trail leads around the butte to a point where hikers can climb up and through the hole where they are treated to views of the surrounding Phoenix metropolitan area.

The Papago Park Nature trail is located not too far from the Phoenix Zoo in the east section of Papago Park in Phoenix, Arizona. The easy to hike interpretive trail identifies many local plants and wildlife as it follows a small loop around its desert garden.
