Tellurium Lake

Tellurium Lake is located in the Holy Cross Wilderness Area of the White River National Forest east of Basalt, Colorado. The picturesque subalpine lake, that offers a distant view of Savage Peak (13,139 ft.), is a good backpacking destination that also has good fishing for Brook and Lake Trout. The lake can be accessed from the south through Henderson Park as well as from the west beginning off of the Burnt Mountain Road which was the route taken for this post.

The Aqueduct trail is located in the Grand Mesa National Forest near Grand Junction and Cedaredge, Colorado. The trail begins off of the Surface Creek Road, aka Forest Road #125, and ends at Forest Road #127, aka the Leon Lake Road.

Green Mountain

The Green Mountain trail is located in the Grand Mesa National Forest near Grand Junction, Colorado. The trail stretches for 6 miles between the Hay Park Road, FR #129, and the Surface Creek Road, FR #125. There is another section of the Green Mountain trail that begins at the Surface Creek Road and ends near Bailey Reservoir. Some maps show the section between the Hay Park Road and the Surface Creek Road as the West Green Mountain trail but they also show a slightly different route from the one the trail actually follows.

The Hay Park trail is located in the Grand Mesa National Forest near Grand Junction, Colorado. The multi-use trail, which is open to ATVs with a width of 50 inches or less, begins off of Forest Road #129 where it travels around Lily Pad Reservoir and the Carbonate Camp Reservoirs before coming to an end at a junction with the Eureka trail. Some maps are calling this the Hay Ride trail but those maps are also showing slightly different routes for the Green Mountain and Eureka trails. Our GPS files and the map at the end of this post are accurate according to the current routes taken.
