Fins-N-Things is a popular jeep trail in the Sand Flats Recreation Area near Moab, Utah. This post follows the southern section of the trail beginning at the east end and hiking to the west end to where the trail crosses the Sand Flats Road. Much of the northern section of the trail is shown under the Radio Tower Loop post on this website.

The Radio Tower Loop is located in the Sand Flats Recreation Area near Moab, Utah. The trail follows a section of the much longer Fin-N-Things trail beginning at the radio tower just north of the Sand Flats Road and looping around to the staging area where it follows the road back to the radio tower. We found the hike listed in a book that we purchased at the Moab Visitor Center which contained 50 short hikes in the Moab area. In the book the map looks the same as the Google map for this post but it shows a distance of only 2 miles whereas the hike ended up being 5.6 miles.

Porcupine Rim Overlook

The Porcupine Rim Overlook trail is located in the Sand Flats Recreation Area east of Moab, Utah. The trail begins off of the Sand Flats Road and climbs to an overlook on the Porcupine Rim where stunning views of the Castle Valley area await. Motorized vehicles that can handle the very rough road can continue for about another 8 miles past the overlook while mountain bikers can ride another 11 miles or so all the way down to Highway 128.

The Slickrock Bike Trail is located in the Sand Flats Recreation Area at Moab, Utah. The trail makes an epic loop across a sea of sandstone domes that are sure to satisfy even the most hardcore mountain biker. The trail is also open to dirt bikes and we would have to imagine that they find the trail equally pleasing. Advanced riding skills are required to complete the trail without a lot of walking although most everyone ends up off their bike at some point. The Slickrock Practice Loop located near the trailhead is a good place to get an idea of some of the challenges one might expect.
