Waving Hands is a rock art site in the Canyon Pintado National Historic District south of Rangely, Colorado. Among the things that you can learn at the Waving Hands site are how they made the paint that the pictographs were painted with and what they used to create the different colors of paint. There is also some good information on rock art in general.

White Birds is a site in the Canyon Pintado National Historic District south of Rangely, Colorado. The location is one of a half dozen similar sites in the district with easy to access rock art in the form of both pictographs (painted) and petroglyphs (pecked) that date from the historic Ute times all the way back to much earlier Fremont and Barrier Canyon periods.

Kokopelli is a site that is in the Canyon Pintado National Historic District south of Rangely, Colorado. The site has a pretty good pictograph of the legendary Kokopelli figure as well as several other worthwhile images and scenes.

Cow Canyon is a site in the Canyon Pintado National Historic District south of the town of Rangely, Colorado. The location contains both historic and prehistoric petroglyphs and pictographs. It is possible that the site contains the shields and the two fighting men petroglyphs seen by Padres Dominguez and Escalante for which the area was named.

The State Bridge Site is located in the Canyon Pintado National Historic District south of the town of Rangely, Colorado. State Bridge has some intriguing Fremont style petroglyphs that although faded and relatively few in number are still very interesting.
