Pleasant Valley Petroglyphs

GPS planning file and map.

The Pleasant Valley Petroglyphs are located along the Geology Tour Road in Joshua Tree National Park. The petroglyphs are at the base of the hill about 150 feet north of Stop #10 of the tour. To get to Stop #10 requires committing yourself to drive the entire Geology Tour loop which requires a 4WD vehicle. An alternative is to park at Stop #9, Squaw Tank, where the road is still 2-way, or if possible at the start of the one-way loop, and hike from one of those spots.

For turn-by-turn directions to Stop #9 enter Squaw Tank Joshua Tree into your driving app. From the paved Park Blvd. Road you will be directed onto the graveled Geology Tour Road for 5.4 miles to Squaw Tank.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
