Petroglyph Point

GPS planning file and map.

Petroglyph Point is located in the Lava Beds National Monument near Tulelake, California. Hundreds of petroglyphs at the site are etched into the soft volcanic tuff of what at one time was an island in Tule Lake.

For turn-by-turn directions to the trailhead enter Petroglyph Point California into your driving app. The site is 19.6 miles from the Visitor Center. Once there, the petroglyphs are stretched out along the base of the hill protected by a chain link fence.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
