Mule Tank Petroglyphs

GPS planning file and map.

The Mule Tank Petroglyphs are located in the Chuckwalla National Monument south of Blythe, California. Mule Tank is about 1.8 miles further west of the Mule Canyon Geoglyphs.

First find your way to the geoglyphs by entering 33.55983, -114.77479 into your driving app. You will be directed south from I-10, Exit 236, onto CA-78. Continue south of 4.4 miles and turn right on 22nd Avenue. Head west now on 22nd and then southwest as it becomes the Gravel Pit Road. After a short distance go right again, this time on the Powerline Road for 2.75 miles and turn left onto a 4WD road where the geoglyphs will be on your left in another 1.2 miles.

From the west end of the geoglyphs continue west for another 1 mile to a fork. Go left at this point and continue for another 0.8 miles around the base of Mule Mountain. From there the site extends up the wash from a fence to Mule Tank.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
