The Mockingbird Canyon Pictographs are located south of Riverside, California. Some good pictographs can be found in a rockshelter. Other faint images can be found in other places in the area. A large portion of the space has been fenced off to protect it from vandalism. Bedrock mortars are also present.
Not having been there yet we have marked 2 trailheads on the map. The first one is along the Harley John Road at 33.85268, -117.37217 where in Google Street View you can see an open gate in the tall chain link fence. From this trailhead there is an obvious route that is visible.
The other trailhead on Mockingbird Canyon Road at 33.85420, -117.37473 looks like a homeless camp in Google Street View but in Google Satellite View you can see some vehicles parked at one end that make it look like a trailhead.
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
