For more information about the site visit the States website. For turn-by-turn directions enter Chumash Painted Cave into your driving app. The site is three miles south of the San Marcos Pass: Take Highway 154 out of Santa Barbara and turn right on Painted Cave Road. The cave is located on the left, about two miles up a steep, narrow road. The pullout at the site will only accommodate one or two vehicles. Trailers and RVs should not attempt the road. (Directions taken from the above website.)
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
