Fort Piute is located in the Mojave National Preserve between Searchlight, Nevada and Arrowhead Junction, California. The fort itself is an old US Calvary outpost. Petroglyphs can be found at the Turkey Farm site a little before getting to the fort as well as on toward Piute Spring. Even more petroglyphs can be found on various rocks along the wash between the fort and the spring.
To get there, either drive south for 25 miles from Searchlight or north 18.4 miles from Arrowhead Junction on US 95. Turn west onto BLM NN036, the Mojave Road, and follow that for 9 miles to the fort.
