We got the location for the Petroglyph Tank Petroglyphs from geo tagging an image in Google Maps. We haven’t been able to find it since. The site is on the Navajo Indian Reservation, high above the Little Colorado River, between Cameron, Arizona and the Desert Watchtower in the Grand Canyon National Park. We aren’t sure whether the site can be visited without a guide, or at all even, but it was visited by whomever took the photo.
To get there, drive west on AZ-64 towards the Grand Canyon from US-89 for 15.2 miles. Turn north at that point on a spur of Navajo 6140. It is about 4.4 miles to the site
Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
