The Peralta Map and Inscription Rock petroglyph sites are located in the Superstition Mountains east of Apache Junction, Arizona. To begin enter ‘Peralta Trailhead, Peralta Road’ into your driving app to get to the trailhead. From the parking area follow the Bluff Spring Trail # 235 for about 3.3 miles to the Dutchman Trail #104. Follow the Dutchman trail north for another 3.4 miles to the petroglyphs for a total one-way hiking distance of 6.7 miles. The trail starts out gaining 1,184 feet of elevation after which it descends 1,093 feet before reaching the petroglyphs. The total roundtrip elevation gain would be the sum of those two figures or 2,277 feet.
