Indian Spring

GPS planning file and map.

The Indian Spring Petroglyphs is a site near Tonopah, Arizona that we haven't visited yet. To get there take I-10 Exit 81 for the Salome Road. On the south side of the interstate follow the Salome Road for a very short distance and turn right onto the Harquahala Valley Road. After 5.5 miles turn right onto Centennial. Continue for 6.9 miles and go right onto the El Paso Pipeline Road. After 4 miles turn left onto what might be BLM-013. Follow that for 1.6 miles to the trailhead.
From the trailhead begin by following the Ben Avery trail. We were able to zoom in on satellite view and piece together the Ben Avery trail, some wash routes, and then some old 4WD and hiking routes to come up with the GPS track from the trailhead to the Indian Spring Petroglyphs. There are apparently hundreds of petroglyphs at this site on the rocks and cliffs above the wash.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
