Hieroglyphic Canyon Petroglyphs

GPS planning file and map.

The Hieroglyphic Canyon Petroglyphs is a site near Apache Junction, Arizona that we haven't visited yet. There are quite a few petroglyphs at this location. Some of them require a telephoto lens to photograph. For turn-by-turn directions you can enter 'Hieroglyphic Trailhead, Hieroglyphic Trail, Gold Canyon' into your driving app. By the time you enter 'Hieroglyphc Trailhead' you should be able to choose the 'Gold Canyon' one. Other than that if coming from Apache Junction on US-60 you only have to go about 8.5 miles before turning off (left) onto the Kings Ranch Road. Follow Kings Ranch to Baseline, turn right, turn left on Mohican, left on Valley View, and right on Cloudview, and you will end at the trailhed.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
