Henderson Flat Ruins

GPS planning file and map.

The Henderson Flat Ruins is a site south of Ash Fork, Arizona that we haven't visited yet. There are 3 separate ruins in the area that we found marked on our topo map. The ruins are remotely located high up on the shoulder of different ridges and will probably require some moderately strenuous hiking to reach. To get there from Ash Fork drive about 16 miles south on AZ 89. Turn left, or east, onto Country Road 71. Follow CR 71 for 15.6 miles and turn left onto what should be FR 181. Continue for approximately 7.4 miles and park. The ruins should be northeast from that point. If there is a trail leading to the ruins it isn't apparent in satellite view.

Another option for accessing the area would be to drive south from Williams on the Perkensville Road. That might be very scenic but maybe not any faster.

Included with this post is the GPS file and map that we plan to use for our first visit. If you don't want to wait for us to get around to it feel free to try the GPS file and map for yourself. With no guarantee, of course, but they most often prove valuable for us.
