The Escape trail is located in the Moab Brands Mountain Biking Area north of Moab, Utah. Less than a quarter mile long the trail provides an easy escape route from the Deadman's Ridge trail down to the paved Moab Canyon Biking trail. The Escape trail can also just as easily be used as an on ramp for the Deadman's Ridge trail.

For this post we began at the lower end of the Escape trail, followed it up to Deadman's Ridge, and returned the same way back to the paved path. The lower end of the trail is about 4 tenths of a mile from the south Moab Brands trailhead and right across the paved path from one of the spurs for the Sidewinder trail.

From the bottom the Escape trail ascends up a shallow wash.

An average grade of 3% requires only a moderate effort.

The Escape trail connects to Deadman's Ridge about 4 tenths of a mile from where it began off of the Bar M Loop.

The trail is not very long but the scenery is nonetheless pretty.

The Escape trail is short and sweet. It works as an escape from Deadman's Ridge and as a connector to the paved path and the Sidewinder trail. The trial runners and hikers seemed to be getting as much use out of it as the mountain bikers were. If you would like to see it for yourself then all you have to do is grab your bike or 'Take a hike'.
