We have identified 4 petroglyph sites along the north end of the Enterprise Road near the Gillespie Dam north of Gila Bend, Arizona. This post is for Site IV which is at the top of a bluff overlooking the Enterprise Road. The petroglyphs were created on the basalt boulders that were probably deposited by an eruption of the nearby Gillespie Volcano.

The Enterprise Road is at the west end of the Gillespie Dam Bridge. For turn-by-turn directions you can enter 33.21748, -112.77329 into your driving app. Short of that drive north from Gila Bend on Old Highway 80 for about 22.6 miles and after crossing the bridge turn left onto the Enterprise Road.

We parked along the Enterprise Road about 0.6 miles from Old Highway 80 where some of the petroglyphs could be seen on the nearby bluff. If your vehicle can manage it you can stay on the bluff road that runs past Sites I thru III and start your hike a lot closer. Either way the hike is a short one.

The hill looks a bit daunting in this photo but it didn't seem difficult getting up to the petroglyphs. Coming back down at the other end was a bit tedious though.

Like the other sites there are a few boulders with images that can be spotted while scrambling up the side of the hill.

Most of the images though are all the way up near the top of the hill.

Five concentric circles.

There aren't a lot in the way of large panels at Site IV.

Interesting spiral.

Nice fat lizard.

I'll just call this a maze because I don't remember what it was that I read about it.

Some pretty wide farm equipment goes along the Enterprise Road at times so be sure to park well out of the way. This part of the road is as wide as the highway though. We found 4 sites along the upper end of the Enterprise Road but we may have missed as many more. There might be another site a little south from Site IV on the south facing cliffs of a side canyon that we weren't able to confirm the location of on this trip. As far as what we did find if you would like to see them for yourself then all you have to do is 'Take a hike'.
