The Taos Pueblo, located in Taos, New Mexico, 'is one of the oldest living and continuously inhabited communities in the United States'. The Pueblo, estimated to have been constructed between 1000 and 1450 A. D., is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Arroyo Hondo Petroglyphs are located in the Wild and Scenic River Section of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument near Taos, New Mexico. Two very nice petroglyphs can be spotted high up on a cliff just upstream of the confluence of the Rio Grande River and the Rio Hondo.

The Slide Trail is located in the Rio Grande Gorge Section of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument near Taos, New Mexico. Along the lower part of the trail there are petroglyphs that can be found on a few of the rocks and boulders.

Enroute to Big Arsenic Spring, within the scenic gorge of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, near Taos, New Mexico, petroglyphs can be found on many of the boulders along the trail. Most of the petroglyphs have a hunting theme but one that shows a birthing scene speaks of life in general.
