The Reach 11 Recreation Area borders the north side of the Central Arizona Project Canal in Phoenix, Arizona. Within its 1,500 acres there are around 18 miles of multiple use trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and trail running. This post covers the W210 trail which runs through the center of the trails that are on the west side of Tatum Blvd.
The trailhead is at the southeast corner of the parking lot at 19226 N Tatum Blvd.
This post begins at the west end of the W210 trail where it departs from the Cactus Wren trail and follows it back to the trailhead.
W210 follows a path that is about 8 feet wide as it travels east between the W211N and W211S trails.
For the most part the trail is smooth but there are several spots that currently are severely rutted that it must detour around.
A little more than a quarter mile from where W210 began the Meadowlark trail branches off on the left.
Just under the half mile point W210 is crossed by the Roadrunner trail.
From there the W210 continues along the south side of the Horse Lovers Park.
About 1 mile from the Cactus Wren trail where the W210 first started out it meets up with the Gamble Quail trail and comes to an end. From here it is about 2 tenths of a mile continuing straight on the Gamble Quail trail to the trailhead. A nice loop that comes out to about 2.5 miles round trip can be made by combining the W211S, W210 and the Gamble Quail trails. Of course, with 25 trails in the area there are plenty of options for most any length of outing. If you would like to see it for yourself then all you have to do is 'Take a hike'.
