Lion's Mouth Cave is located in the Dixie National Forest west of Cedar City, Utah where a short trail leads up to a shallow alcove that contains numerous pictographs that stretch from one end of the cave to the other. The sandstone knoll that somewhat resembles a crouching mountain lion, and being of the same color as its fur, may have given rise to the name of the cave.

The Enepitsi, or Ghost, trail is located in the Santa Clara River Preserve northwest of St. George, Utah. The trail travels along the base of the cliffs in a long shallow canyon that was carved out by the Santa Clara River. The sides of the cliffs and multiple large boulders are extensively decorated with numerous geometric and biomorphic images left by the areas ancient inhabitants and their descendants who comprise the Southern Paiute people. Besides the numerous petroglyphs, at one point of the trail, there are a score or so of pictographs that can be seen through the trees on the west side of the river.

The Turquoise Lake Nature trail is located in the San Isabel National Forest near Leadville, Colorado. Situated between the Molly Brown and Silver Dollar campgrounds the trail follows a pleasant loop through open meadows and tall stands of conifers. Near the lake it shares its route with the nearly 7 mile long Turquoise Lake trail.

The Matchless Mine, located in Leadville, Colorado, is the location of Baby Doe's Cabin. Silver King Horace Tabor made a fortune from the mine beginning in 1878 which was later squandered largely through acts of philanthropy and bad investments. His second wife, Elizabeth Bonduel McCourt Doe ("Baby Doe") lived at the mine after Horace's death in 1899 until her own death in 1935 at the age of 81.
