The Gould Pass Pueblito is located in the Dinetah area east of Broomfield, New Mexico. Sitting on a prominent sandstone outcrop, overlooking much of the surrounding area, the ruin appears to have been built as a defensible structure.
For turn-by-turn directions to the trailhead enter 36.58219, -107.56884 into your driving app. If you are coming straight to the site from Highway 64 to the north you will probably be routed via the Carrizo Canyon Road and up Gould Pass. If you are already well into Largo Wash visiting some of the other ruins you will probably be routed up Ice Canyon via County Road 367. Either way you will most likely need a high clearance 4WD. Most of the roads are very good but Gould Pass is very steep and Largo Wash has some deep sand traps.
On its way up to the ruin from the pullout on the Gould Pass Road the trail passes a primitive campsite.
From the pullout along side of the road it is less than 600 feet up to where the pueblito sits on the edge of the mountain.
Inside of the pueblo there are several angled holes in key locations through which arrows could have been shot.
Accessible from inside is a terraced area with a short wall surrounding it that has a good view of the area around the east side of the pueblo.
Like some of the other ruins in Dinetah this one has undergone some reconstruction. A sign warns visitors not to venture up onto the roof. It's nice for visitors that they have stabilized the ruins and done a little restoration.
On the west side of the ruin there is another short parapet wall that was also probably part of the pueblitos defenses.
