The Two Feathers site is located along Escalante Creek in the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area between Delta and Grand Junction, Colorado. The site includes two circular petroglyph images that we usually refer to as shields.

After turning off of US-50 it is about 11.9 miles up Escalante Canyon to where there is a pullout on the right side of the road. The pullout is about 2 tenths of a mile past the Potholes Campground. The road is well maintained and normally passable by most all highway vehicles.
With a keen eye or a pair of binoculars you can look up from the trailhead and spot the 2 shields just to the left of a juniper tree.
The easiest route to the images is up a slope on the right.
Once you get up to the base of the cliff it is a moderately easy scramble over to the petroglyphs.
After passing the juniper tree the 2 circles are seen near each other on the cliff.
The first circle has inner lobes which I believe is called a 'rose curve'. The two feathers are very well executed.
The second image is made up of two concentric circles with an X.
We're guessing that the images are probably Ute in origin.
There are quite a few very nice primitive campsites in this part of Escalante Canyon that are good for both tent and RV camping. You can probably hear the creek at night from all of them. Bighorn sheep and deer can be spotted at times in the canyon.
