Hop, Skip and a Jump is a trail in the Lunch Loop Trail System in Grand Junction, Colorado. The trail begins off of the Kids Meal trail where it makes a short lollipop loop around the lower area of the Three Sisters section of the Lunch Loop Trails just above the wash that drains No Thoroughfare Canyon. Besides the Kids Meal trail Hop, Skip and a Jump has connections with the Yes N Deedee and Nor'easter trails.

The quickest route to the Hop, Skip and a Jump trail from the parking area is to follow Curt's Lane and turnoff onto Kids Meal right before Curt's Lane begins climbing the hill.

Within the first hundred feet or so the trail begins a loop.

The next leg of the trail contours around the base of the hillside.

A fork comes up where Hop, Skip and a Jump branches off on the left and the Yes N Deedee trail continues straight ahead.

The trail remains easy as it continues around the base of the mountain.

After a short distance the trail turns towards the west in the direction of the wash.

Near the wash Hop, Skip and a Jump is joined by the Nor'easter trail. From here the route turns back toward where it began. The next stretch climbs the little rolling mounds of dirt above the wash.

In no time at all the loop comes to an end.

The Hop, Skip and a Jump trail nicely augments the Kids Meal trail by adding an adjacent route that is also at the beginner mountain bike skill level. With the addition of the Nor'easter trail Hop, Skip and a Jump serves as a connecting route from which other loops can be formed. If you would like to see it for yourself then all you have to do is grab your bike or 'Take a hike'.
