The Maverick trail is located in the Moab Brands Mountain Biking Area north of Moab, Utah. The slightly less than one half mile long trail connects 2 points of the North 40 loop by adding a fun downhill section to it. The upper end of the Maverick trail begins near the 1 mile point of the eastern branch of the North 40. The trail comes to an end near the 0.3 mile point which for those that are going to continue around the North 40 loop means there will be about 3/4 of a mile to ride again.

To get to the beginning of the Maverick trail follow the directions for the North 40 and ride it counter-clockwise to the 1 mile point.

The Maverick trail heads west from the North 40 traversing the side of the hill along a colorful red dirt singletrack.

The next stage of the trail makes a rollicking descent down a hogback ridge with an easy slope to it.

As the trail continues it flattens out a bit and begins darting around the shallow washes.

The Maverick trail makes good use of a beautiful area.

All too soon the trail comes to an end and you have to go looking for fun once again along the North 40 loop. The Maverick trail is a nice option that deserves to be checked out at least once anyway. If you would like to see it for yourself then all you have to do is grab your bike or 'Take a hike'.
